Eligibility criteria
The eligibility criteria will differ under different quotas. But generally, to secure a seat in a B.Tech college in Haryana, the candidate must be eligible for the following criteria.
- Candidate must have cleared the 12th class with a science stream having mathematics, physics, chemistry, or biology as core subjects.
- Candidates holding a diploma in engineering can also apply for Lateral Entry Scheme in B.Tech degree.
- For admission in B.Tech Biotechnology candidate should have passed 12th with physics, mathematics, and biology as mandatory subjects.
- The minimum marks scored in the 12th class and diploma should be 45%.
Entrance exam
The admission at any B.Tech college in Haryana is based on JEE Main scorecard. The rank achieved in the JEE Main will decide whether a candidate is given admission to the college or not. The admission and related procedures are the responsibility of the HSTES (Haryana State Technical Education Society).
The state does not conduct an entrance test and considers the JEE Main score to allot a B.Tech college in Haryana. Candidates need to qualify for the JEE Main to study engineering courses in Haryana. The high score gives a better chance to secure a seat in a preferred college.
Admission process
The admission is done through online mode which is supervised by the HSTES (Haryana State Technical Education Society). To get admission to a B.Tech college in Haryana, candidates have to do online registration followed by an online counselling. The admission goes as follows –
- Do online registration via techadmissionshry.gov.in.
- Upload the necessary academic and personal documents.
- Fill out the form with the colleges in the preferred sequence.
- Pay for the online registration form.
- Allotment of seats through online counselling.
- Report to the college, and deposit the token fee.
Counselling
Qualifying candidates have to appear in the online counselling session held by the HSTES. A B.Tech college in Haryana will be allotted based on the JEE Main marks, preferences, and seat availability. There are 2 rounds of online counselling for candidates of all categories having 25% horizontal reservation for females.
After 2 rounds, institutional-level counselling is conducted where candidates without JEE Main score can appear under inter-se-merit. Candidates should fill out a maximum number of forms to higher the chances of admission.
